About The Asa Waters Mansion Wedding Venue
Work on the mansion started in 1824 when Asa Waters II set out with his wife to design an estate worthy of entertaining the town. Builders crafted the house with the finest materials: marble from Italy, mahogany from Central America, and bricks from Baltimore. Over the next century and a half, the mansion would be home to many different stories.
The house hosted grand balls and served as a haven amongst friends. It was rumored to have been a stop on the Underground Railroad. Furthermore, it became a novitiate and then a Bishop’s home until it fell into disrepair. Some of the town’s citizens saved the house, which was transformed to become a house worthy of any celebration once again.
